In the Fall of 2006 my daughter graced our lives with two grandchildren, Carolyn and Tommy. During the first year of their lives, Tommy didn’t thrive as well as his sister. He didn't hold down his milk, was a very poor eater, and had itchy excema all over his body. We suspected allergies despite the fact that their very diligent mother measured and monitored everything they ate or were exposed to. When Tommy was tested for allergies, he had lots of them. Tommy is also allergic to peanuts which can cause anaphylactic shock. Nuts and peanut oils are in SO MANY foods, not to mention eggs and milk which are listed using uncommon names. We now have Epipens® handy and read labels VERY carefully. Even simple foods may be made in facilities which handle nuts. And how can you remember the ingredients in everything you buy? So you start separating things and cooking differently to limit exposure. Ever had an egg-less cupcake? Life has changed. We created the products in our store for our own use. If you have very young allergic children who cannot understand or speak yet for themselves, we hope you’ll find these products as helpful as we have.
